More about Yeti Tours NZ

About Yeti Tours

Yeti Tours has a 35+ year history of canoe tours on the Whanganui River, being one of the first to offer clients guided & freedom hire trips on the this remarkable waterway.

Our attention to detail & success in achieving a professional client-focused adventure has resulted in Yeti Tours becoming a leading operator on the Whanganui River. You can be assured you are in safe hands, as we have achieved a ‘Qualmark Certification’ which requires certain safety standards and protocols to be in place, which is audited annually. We also have a Doc concession to operate guided trips on the Whanganui River & can tailor guided or freedom Hire River trips to suit individual or school group’s timeframes, ranging from 1 to 10 days.

Yeti tours will provide all your canoes/kayaks/equipment barrels/maps & safety briefs including transport needs for your unique historical & cultural journey on the Whanganui River.

Your journey begins the previous night with your pre safety brief serving to encourage you in your freedom or guided trip on the river.
Your early transportation & informative commentary along the way to the river heightens your sense of expectation of the pending wilderness adventure.

Once on the river you are now free to discover & explore the diverse aspects that this remarkable waterway has to offer.

Enjoy many of the individual points of interest along the way including your first exhilarating rapid leading to more leisurely discovering of Bush line Gorges/spectacular waterfalls/hidden side streams/Mud caves & of course the world famous Bridge to Nowhere.

Each evening concluding with an often ambient sharing of the day’s activities with other fellow river travellers over a hardy meal in one of the many hut or tent sites in this outdoor wilderness environment.
The final part of your river adventure ends with your negotiation of the Autapu Rapid, concluding your journey at the historic settlement of Pipiriki.

Many Testimonies to Yeti attest to having achieved a sense of self satisfaction lasting a life time.
