Wilderland

Wilderland was born in 1964 and is one of New Zealand's first truly organic farms. Today it is a collaboratively managed educational project, after the land was donated to a Trust in 1989 and then registsered as a non-profit charitable trust in 1992. We host hundreds of volunteers from Aotearoa and the world each year.

To learn at Wilderland is to be involved in all aspects of shared living including organic farming, land stewardship, social activities, decision-making and more. Learning is experiential and participatory, based on skill sharing, and everyone at Wilderland is both a student and a teacher.
