More about Whangarei Thai Therapy

Sawasdee Kha and welcome to Whangarei Thai Therapy. We are a small team of well-trained massage therapists who will greet you with a friendly smile while providing a professional, refreshing massage. We provide a variety of spa treatments be it for the health conscious, sports, Swedish aromatherapy, traditional Thai massage, foot reflexology, body scrub and facial as well as hot stone therapy.

The most common and most effective use of massage is to relax the body and mind, relieving the strains and tensions of daily life. It can also be used to treat many common health problems including poor circulation, heart disorders, high blood pressure, migraines, stress, as well as allergies hyperactivity, insomnia sinusitis.

Thai Massage:
Thai Massage "The practical expression of loving kindness" can be traced through. Thai massage combines acupressure points from China and assisted Yogie stretching from India which opens up the body energetically and physically. Thai massage increases vascular activity which breaks up and moves trapped toxins. But Thai massage is unique because it directs all the toxins out, both energetically and physiologically you don't feel sedated after a session. On the contrary you feel centred and grounded when the massage is over.

Swedish:
Whangarei Thai Therapy offers Classic Swedish massage which includes complete body massage with oil for those who generally experience good health but wish to add to their relaxation and quality of life. Classic Swedish massage technique involves gentle manipulation using strokes such as gliding, kneading, stretching and tapping to promote circulation, relaxation, stress reduction, and general wellbeing. Classic Swedish massage increases the oxygen flow in the blood and releases toxins from the muscles.

Aromatherapy:
Aromatherapy technique incorporates more focused, penetrating strokes such as compression and cross fiber friction to facilitate the release of specific muscles that are taut or knotted. These techniques are often combined in a full body massage.

Sport Massage:
Most sports injuries involve damage to muscle fibres or tendons and they are commonly caused by overuse of muscles that are not functionally balanced with other muscles in their group. Thai Sports massage enables every individual muscle to assume its normal relaxed length when not contracting. It also provides maintenance that muscles need to improve performance by reducing the risk of injury during sports activity and training.

Hot Stone Therapy:
Hot stone massage suited for people who have muscle tension but prefer a lighter massage. The heat relaxes muscles allowing the muscles to be worked on without using deep pressure. This massage helps to improve various health conditions such as back aches and pains, poor circulation, stress and tension. Leaving you feeling beautifully relaxed.

Neck, Head, Shoulder, Back Massage:
This massage releases high stress on the head, neck, shoulders and back. Using essential oil with deep tissue techniques to relax particular tension filled areas.

Pregnancy Massage:
Pregnancy results in extensive body changes and extra tension in the muscular and skeletal systems, caused by hormones and a shift in your centre of gravity. This relaxing massage can reduce peripheral swelling, help prevent insomnia, reduce muscle and back pain and sooth the nervous system.

Body Scrub:
With a composition of sesame seeds and essential vitamins. This treatment is particularly for dry and sensitive skin type, detoxify and leave your complexion clear and smooth.

Foot Reflexology:
Reflexology originates from an ancient Chinese system and is based on the motion that there are nerve endings in the sides and the soles of the feet that correspond to all of the organs of the body such as the liver, kidney or spleen. The gentle and repeated massage of these pressure points stimulates and detoxifies the internal organs and improves circulation to the problem area. By applying deep and direct pressure to specific points located on the feet, reflexology restores balance and improves function in the whole body. Relieving pain and enhancing health.

Facial Treatment:
Give your skin a new lease of life with this complete source of treatment which include cleansing from machine (UP5). The treatment deeply nourishes and enhances the complexion, lymphatic system. The treatment takes care, repairs and firms up you facial skin as well, slows down the aging of your face and gives you a younger looking skin.

Waxing:
Waxing is a quick and easy way of removing unwanted hair. It will leave you relatively free of hair growth for 3-4 weeks, depending on the growth of your hair. This may not happen on your first wax treatment due to the hair growth cycle, so we recommend a treatment plan of getting re-waxed every 4-6 weeks.
