Whangaparaoa College

Whangaparaoa College is a state co-educational secondary school located on the Hibiscus Coast. The decile 9 school serves Years 7 to 13 with a role of 1331 Learners (as at July 2016) including International. Opened officially in 2005. The founding principal was Brian O'Connell, who served until 2012. James Thomas took over the principal role in 2012, succeeding O'Connell.The school is in a high socio-economic area (high decile number), and has tight zoning rules where students must live to attend the school.
