Luke and Jake Waghorn are the proud founders, owners and operators of Waghorn Builders. The brothers - identical twins - share a passion for building. They also share a desire to make a positive contribution to their community and a vision to ensure the company that bears their name is a top rated Canterbury building company.

Their combined commitment, energy, expertise and drive has been behind the growth and success of their building company. What started out as an enterprising business opportunity for the two licensed building practitioners in 2011, has grown into a reputable company that employs more than 65 professionals – including many friends and family – in an operation that is renowned for its quality, service and project delivery.
Waghorn Builders have a large team of experienced tradespeople - including master builders, house lifters, tillers, plasterers and painters - under the guidance of managing directors Luke and Jake Waghorn. Their family name on the business masthead means the company’s and family’s reputation is on the line with every project they undertake.

COMPANY OPERATIONS
The company currently runs three tiers of contractors each with their own builders, plasterers, painters (and additional contractors and tradespeople as required). The teams work in close collaboration to ensure a large workload can be undertaken and delivered on time, every time.

There are also two dedicated foundation replacement/remediation crews working full time which ensures there are no delays waiting on subcontractors to undertake site work.

A dedicated health and safety officer is employed to oversee all site specific Safety Management Plans. Task analysis and site safety is maintained on a daily basis


CREDENTIALS
Operating initially out of the Fletchers Kaiapoi hub, Waghorn Builders have worked with numerous hubs throughout the Fletchers programme some including Westminster, Ferrymead, and Woolston
For the past two years they have operated from Pages Road hub (formally North New Brighton), where they have grown to be one of the top performing contractors, with 200 full scope repairs (BAUs).

Waghorn Builders have achieved a Tier One status - the highest rating with Fletchers - and are the second top performing contractor in the largest hub in the CHERP programme.

Fletchers rate every contractor on a job-by-job basis, evaluating the quality of work/time management/ performance and general interaction between Fletchers /EQC staff & homeowners,
Waghorn Builders achieved a 93% evaluation- the highest rating of any contractor in the Pages Road hub - on a large folio of projects ranging from minor repairs to significant renovations.
