We are qualified teachers born, raised and schooled here in Rotorua.

Tena koutou katoa,

I am an experienced kaiako who has spent all of my teaching career in mãori medium education both within the secondary and primary school sectors.

In 2010 I completed my Post Graduate Diploma in Education. I am
currently undertaking a thesis programme for a Masters of Education qualification with a focus on Leadership.

My tamariki Temaea and Ngamatakerewhana both attend kohanga reo. I am excited at the prospect of being able to provide extra support for not only my own tamariki but for all who choose matauranga reo mãori.

I have always been passionate about teaching. Prior to my primary school training I worked for nine years as a kaiako within the kohanga movement.

Upon completing my studies I took up a position in the rũmaki unit at
Rotokawa Primary School with a class of Year 0-3 tamariki. I then went on to head the unit and be part of a rich learning community between whãnau, kaiako and tamariki.

With a daughter Kamorah who is in a rũmaki class, and a son Tipene who attends kohanga reo, the investment in our tamariki is well worth the
effort.
