Timaru Wing Chun Kung Fu

Instructor Phil Aberhart practices and teaches the Chu Shong Tin method of Wing Chun under the guidance of Sifu Leigh Jenkins. The school in its present form has been run by Phil since late 1999 and while student numbers have been kept to a limited few over the years, we have always strived to keep our standards high.

Wing Chun is a very practical, efficient form of self-defence. Practitioners utilise body structures, joint rotation, focus and relaxation to generate a surprising amount of power with which to deal with bigger, stronger opponents. Wing Chun is suitable for both males and females, having been developed by the buddhist nun Ng Mui in southern China in the 1700's. Physical fitness is not required, while internal health and other aspects of personal development can definitely be enhanced with continued practice.

Beginners: Mon and Wed 7-8pm monthly fee $50
Full Students: Mon and Wed 7-9pm monthly fee $60

Minimum age 15 years +
"Beginners" refers to classes 1-30

Saturday morning class for senior students (200+ classes), 10am-12pm.
