The Pines Tavern

Located just 10 kms north of Westport on the Karamea-Heaphy track Highway (67); we are ideally situated for travellers to explore the Northern Buller. Originally built in 1874 the Pines has been the home of a cold beer and a social gathering place for generations of “Black Gold” miners. A potbelly in the winter and shady decks and Garden bar in summer offer the perfect place to relax and rejuvenate. The Banbury Restaurant, serving hearty food far above the usual pub grub standard. As a stopover or as a base for day trips,(Denniston Experience, Stockton Mine tours, Charming Creek Walkway, The Oparara Arches, Limestone Caves, Jet Boating, Rafting the Nile, Fishing, Horse riding: so much to do!)We offer a unique West Coast experience.
