The Home Farm Whole Milk Delivery

In the heart of the Waikato near Matamata, The Home Farm has been in the Troughton family for over 80 years

Currently there are three generations living and working on the property, which is run in a low-input, biological and sustainable way.

Our aim is to take care of the land, the animals on it and the surrounding area.

Our jersey cows are kept happy and healthy, with plenty of room, fresh water and lush pasture to graze on.

They are milked in a modern, 54 bale, rotary cow shed with the most up to date hygiene and testing practises.

We do not use any palm kernel (PK) or other high-input supplements; extra feed is harvested on-farm or sourced locally.

We believe in farming responsibly and as such

- Compost is grown and spread on the farm as a soil conditioner

- Effluent is reused to reduce nutrient loss and use of artificial fertiliser

- Steel, plastic wrap and house hold rubbish are all recycled

- All waterways are fenced to exclude animals

- Both exotic and native trees are planted annually


All this results in a naturally rich, high quality and delicious whole milk.
