The Headache Clinic

The Headache Clinic is the first specialised headache clinic of it's kind in New Zealand.

The understanding of what causes headaches and migraines has significantly changed in the past 10 years. The latest research shows that headache and migraine sufferers have a sensitised lower brainstem (trigemini-cervical nucleus). By gently mobilising the joints of the neck we are able to ‘desensitise’ the lower brainstem.

Helen is an experienced physiotherapist who specialises in the treatment of headache and migraine. As a certified Watson Headache Practitioner Helen has the knowledge and palpation skills to determine the structures involved.

There is no trigger avoidance, after a few treatments you will be encouraged to test your trigger which will confirm the success of your treatment.
