The Dakota Room – set in a WW2 hangar at Ardmore airport.
The Dakota Room is set in a ‘Space with That Difference’…a heritage WW2 hangar. The actual hangar is a ‘working’ space, with professional engineers working on private and warbird aircraft, and where the Jean Batten movie was filmed. This is also the ‘Home’ of the DC3 aircraft a Classic airliner belonging to ‘Fly DC3 New Zealand’, known as ‘The DC3 Hangar’.
The Dakota Room seats 8 to 12 around tables, with an elegant 1940’s/50’s aviation theme , while the modern airline check-in office area contains some original and inspired NAC items.
Whether it’s for one interview, a set of interviews, skype conference, product launch, aviation regulatory meetings and interviews, hosting visitors, potential clients, and the media, or regular board meetings or a strategy session, we have the meeting room to suit. The functionality of modern trestle style tables can be arranged with options to suit seat numbers, and are presented with quality black or white tablecloths, and elegant high backed chairs.
There’s also a 50 inch TV screen for linking in with your laptop, or for Skype video conferencing and WiFi internet access. We have a good old fashioned whiteboard, A2 or A4 Paper and pens, mints, fresh iced water and our lovely range of teas and Bodum style coffee is available in our nice white china cups and saucers or casual recyclable cups.
There is a café at the airport, and Barista coffee can be delivered to the hangar. More Catering is also available by arrangement.
Located at 458 Corsair Lane, off Airfield road , with excellent free parking right outside the door. The benefit of operating at an airport – fly in by helicopter or private aircraft, park close by and the crew will meet the aircraft and escort/drive you to the hangar. The Dakota Room can also be used as a Private arrival or departure lounge for private aircraft.
Wine, ‘Bubbles’ Beer (and our glassware) available on request so you can move seamlessly from boardroom to entertaining.
There is also the 6-10 seat ‘DC3 Crew Kitchen’ (‘The Galley’) upstairs with views outside over the maize fields, or from inside down into the hangar - to relax in for coffee, lunch, or for drinks at the end of the meeting. The ‘Crew’ Room can also be used as a base for private aircraft pilots and crew while they wait for you. It can also be used for a ‘Break out’ session.
Two picnic tables seating 12 can also be set up outside the hangar doors , looking out at the taxiways and runway, for tea/coffee and lunch.
