Te Whare Hauora o Te Aitanga a Hauiti

Te Whare Hauora o Te Aitanga ā Hauiti is a Charitable Trust that provides a wide range of health education and promotion services within the Tairawhiti area. We are governed by a Board of Trustees appointed by the 6 marae of Hauiti, one staff representative and two representatives chosen by the community.

We were established in 1993 as a volunteer organisation providing support for young pregnant women. Key individuals within the community provided support and assistance and eventually programmes evolved to include support for kaumatua. A key focus for the establishment of these initiatives was the health and wellbeing of whānau.

That kaupapa continues to guide the organisation today.

In 1995 our legal entity was established as we continued to provide a wide range of services that responded to the health issues experienced by Tairawhiti whanau. We have since extended our reach throughout the region providing services from Te Araroa to our north through to Tūranga to our south.

Te Whare Hauora o Te Aitanga a Hauit is a quality accredited ISO 9000 QMS organisation.
