We are a fully registed charitable trust (Taupiri Youth Group Charitable Trust)
Our aim and focus is to give the kids something in our town to do, by giving them the opportunity to take part in a community project to Reconstruction and redevelop the Taupiri Mountain Bush walkway by running this project we hope to minimize truancy,burglaries, and vandalism in the community but mostly earn the respect of younger and elders in our local Taupiri community. Our group has about 40 kids involved and we work closely with their Whanau/family most of our kids involved attend the local Taupiri Primary School or Ngaruawahia High School - Who we currently take on board section 71 youth a last point second alternative out of the school work experience for troubled Youth before the Police or Child Youth & Family get involved. We have started on track 1 of Taupiri Mountain adding in New developed stairs and handrails, we also held a successful Community planting day where over 250 native plants were planted, our youth group has featured in the Waikato Times, North Waikato News and even One News as we were Nominated for Goodsorts.
