Elisa, the owner and soul of Sweet&Salty, has grown up in an authentic Italian bakery. The family tradition of bakers started with her grandfather Amedeo during the second world war. Amedeo was the owner of the only mill in his village and he supplied the entire village with flour. He had a large family, 2 sons and 7 daughters, and at that time it wasn’t easy to feed so many people. For this reason, he decided to open a small bakery next to the mill. Elisa’s father Agostino inherited the little village’s bakery and decided to grow it into a professional bakery that produced every day fresh bread, cakes and pizzas.
This is where Elisa has discovered her passion for bakery and learnt everything about it. And now she’s bringing her family tradition and love for good Italian food to New Zealand. Come and taste her creations at Sweet & Salty!
