You don't have to be the biggest, the fittest, the toughest or the bendiest to do Seido Karate - it's open to anyone, regardless of ability. Like all good martial arts, Seido is about personal development through physical and mental training. It's about helping students to find their own non-quitting attitude, to step beyond what they thought they could do to achieve something special.
Seido Karate was founded by Tadashi Nakamura in 1976. Now a 9th degree black belt, Kaicho Nakamura is chairman of the World Seido Karate Organization, based in New York. Over 20,000 students throughout the world are members of the Seido family.
Seido Karate Whangarei is run by Rob Forlong and Bronwyn Dalley (both 6th degree black belts).
