Located in the heart of Ellerslie, Scarlett Salon opened in March 2012 to offer a professional yet relaxed environment for people to come and be transformed by our team of expertly trained Professionnel Stylists.

We pride ourselves in giving exceptional customer service. We are friendly and approachable.
With hair being a major part of our client’s personal identity our aim is to create a personalised hair cut and colour that works for each individual.

At Scarlett we offer a wide range of hair treatments - from cuts and colours to hairups and hair products. We are now the proud stockests of the colmplete KEVIN.MURPHY retail range and also KEVIN.MURPHY COLOUR.ME which is a revolutionary new colouring system that is completly ammonia free. We also offer the fantastic range CREW products and colours designed just for men. We specialise in Thermal Ionic and Keratin smoothing systems to cater for all hair types.
We now also offer tape-in hair extensions with Purdee.

Katie Shortt (nee Robinson) – OWNER / MANAGER
Katie has been hairdressing for the last 18 years, having most recently worked in Kohimarama. Katie is excited by the new challenge of managing Scarlett. Her love for hairdressing comes from the enjoyment of transforming peoples looks to make them feel great about themselves.
Katie believes that hairdressing is all about listening to her client’s needs and wants and working out a fantastic style to suit them and their lifestyle. As a mother of two children she knows that time is precious and a fantastic haircut is key to feeling great about yourself and the day ahead. Katie has a passion for Thermal Ionic and Keratin Hair rejuvenation and can offer relief for even the most unruly and unmanageable curly hair. Katie looks forward to meeting you soon at Scarlett.


Purdee Dent
Purdee has been in the hairdressing industry for 21 years and loves all aspects of it - from simple cuts to complete restyles. Colour work is a great love! Hair ups for weddings and schools balls have always been a favourite also.
Purdee is very passionate about making the client walk out feeling like a new person.
Before starting at Scarlett Salon she worked and managed a salon in Royal Oak, stopping there to have her two beautiful boys.

Manju Bathija
Manju has been hairdressing for 7 years, she enjoys styling and every aspect of colouring.
Manju strives for ultimate client satisfaction and is a motivated and passionate hairdresser.

She likes to excite and inspire her clients and create a style that is easy to maintain and most suited to her clients individual needs. Manju has a wealth of knowledge and loves to keep up with the changing trends.
