Reclaimed by Annabelle

My story begins with the death of my mother. One of the many parting gifts for me was her Queen Anne furniture (which I didn't like) but I couldn't quite bring myself to get rid of it...

So I did what most people would do, I turned to the creative wisdom that is on the internet (or as my family call it, addiction to Pinterest) and discovered the wonder of chalk paint. I experimented with Annie Sloane's products but switched to Voodoo Molly after completing an eye opening chalk painting day course with Pyes Pa Villa Design. Since then, I have completed many small projects giving life back to furniture that would otherwise have been given away.

My drive and ambition comes from revamping our 90's house. I love change. Moving items, purchasing second hand items, and creating my own touch to give a boutique, vintage, chic spin to dull objects and rooms.

At home, I have painted over the dated mustard, dark blue and dirty yellow selecting more simple colours to accent the items in the room. The gardens were also a mixture of plants and vegetables in the same beds. So being a bit cheeky, I have collected most of my plants taking cuttings from friends and family - it is a bit of a mish mash of colours but it is coming together.

I hope you enjoy seeing the progress, abeit slow, of all my projects. So begins the next chapter my journey of reclaiming of items lost to time. Watch this space
