Our Lady of the Snows School

Our Lady of the Snows is a Catholic co-educational integrated full primary school (Years 0-8) located at 20 Main Street Methven. Our Lady of the Snows was founded in 1913. The current school roll (2015) stands at approximately 40 pupils.

The school is divided into three classes covering Years 0-2 in Room 2, Years 3-4 in Room 3 and Years 5-8 in Room 1. Extra group teaching is done by teacher aides to assist in literacy and numeracy and also for learning support across other areas of the curriculum. All classrooms are equipped with interactive whiteboards and each class has dedicated classroom computers as well as a pod of iPads. The school has recently introduced a BYOD policy allowing pupils to bring their own iPads to school for use in the classroom.

Our school library is well equipped with books and learning resources and has a large screen TV with remote access for modeling learning via the teacher iPads or sharing by pupils from their devices.

The school also features two teacher aide rooms for learning support, a staff room, office, resource rooms and storage for sports gear and outdoor equipment.

All areas of the school are climate controlled and all classrooms feature modern ergonomic furniture for learning activities.

Our Lady of the Snows is staffed for small class sizes to better cater for individual learning needs.
