Otakaro Pathways is a life sciences company based in Christchurch, New Zealand, that utilises novel science based solutions to improve health and well-being within human and agricultural sectors. Otakaro Pathways has multidisciplinary expertise in medical and veterinary diagnostics delivering a holistic overview from the research laboratory to the patient.

Otakaro Pathways has three key areas of current activity:

- Development of diagnostics for autoimmune disease. This has focused on Crohn's disease, incorporating a novel biomarker that can be visualized, and is being used to assess disease states through varying stages of clinical treatment or drug development. The research pipeline includes diagnostics for other diseases including Multiple Sclerosis, Type 1 Diabetes and Rheumatoid Arthritis.

- Development of diagnostics for Mycobacterial diseases of animals.

- Utilisation of bioremediation techniques to stop plant diseases including Pseudomonas syringae actinidiae infections in kiwifruit.
