NZALT 2017 Student Competition

Create a video around a Gaffe - Lost in Translation
There are four $250 prizes up for grabs.

Students are asked to create a short video to best showcase an intercultural or linguistic gaffe of some kind. The entry needs to be in the target language.

Once your video has been created, students should upload it to YouTube and then email the link to competitions@nzalt.org.nz.

Entries must be received no later than 3.30pm, Friday, 4th August 2017.

Once all of the entries have been embedded to our dedicated Facebook page, the page will go live and students will then have one week to share and like the videos as many times as possible. This part of the competition will finish on Friday, 18th August 2017, at 11:59pm.

Who is the winner?

Judged by the community: The two entries with the most likes and shares will win two of the four prize packs to the value of $250. Parents, classmates and friends will decide which entries will be rewarded! The judging panel will not be involved in this category.

NZALT judging panel: The two entries judged the best / most humorous videos by the NZALT Executive will be awarded the other two prize packs of $250.

The distribution of the prize components will be at the discretion of the school. Entries are only open to schools where the teacher(s) is/are members of NZALT.
