Ngahihi

Since its inception, Ngahihi has contributed to major projects developed by the Ministry of Education. These include the development of Te Whariki, the early childhood curriculum framework; Te Whariki video series; Quality in Action: Ngaa mahi Whai Hua; Self review in ECE: Ngaa Aroaro Whai Hua and recently, the development and professional development provision for Te Whatu Pokeka: Kaupapa Maaori Assessment Framework.
Members of Ngahihi have contributed significantly both nationally and internationally to the field of early childhood through publications and conference presentations. Their particular focus is always on the major contribution Maaori knowledge plays in early childhood education.

The current professional development program that is now available runs from September 2013 to August 2015 with a focus on Leadership in the Eastern Bay of Plenty and Infants and toddlers for the Waikato rohe.
