New Zealand Opera

New Zealand Opera was formed in 2000 with the merger of the National Opera of Wellington and Opera New Zealand (Auckland), forming New Zealand's first fully professional national opera company. In 2012, Southern Opera merged with New Zealand Opera to form a truly national opera company and to ensure the long term future and viability of opera of an international standard in the South Island.
