Nala Riding Ponies / Nala Park Thoroughbreds

The Nala Stud (or Alan spelt backwards) was evolved and started near Palmerston North, New Zealand many years ago. Six years ago, it shifted to a new property near the Tararua foothills in Shannon where the stud evolves today.

The Stud has always been a small boutique quality stud where we breed for our own use and personal satisfaction – not in a commercial way at all – and it has given us much pleasure and tremendous success to continue striving for better. Many individuals both led and ridden bred here have captured many judges hearts to win HOY titles, National & Royal titles under renowned breeders from around the globe. Lately, we are breeding ponies that we have bred both their parents as well’ and this will continue here more and more as we refine and cross our lines.

Some of our stallions stand to outside mares from time to time but this cannot always be guaranteed even in A.I. form due to huge business interests.

We at times offer superb ponies for sale; ponies which have gone on to win Horse of the Year titles and give others the thrill of what we breed here. Enquiries are always welcome and visitors by appointment only.

Alan is also a renowned international and tutor judge and has judged extensively in New Zealand and overseas. He has been awarded the Judge of the Year status multi times.
