Mangere Mountain Education Centre

We at the Mangere Mountain Education Centre are passionate about restoring, re-enacting and reinforcing the cultural heritage and history of the Mountain and its local iwi, Te Wai-o-Hua.

We provide an overview of New Zealand’s geology by comparing oral tradition with scientific theory and talking about some of the legends associated with Auckland’s volcanoes particularly Mangere Mountain and it’s unique geological features.

We offer guided walks of Mangere Mountain and provide kinaesthetic workshops at our purpose-built educational complex.

We service ALL Education providers from ECE to Tertiary and can deliver our programmes in both the English & Maori languages. We are also open to receiving community groups as well as international visitors to experience the uniquity of the Mangere Mountain Education Centre.
