Holistic therapy business Maggie O’Rourke New Zealand is the culmination of the personal healing journey of its New Zealand Mangamohoe founder.

Maggie has spent years spent learning about a range of natural therapies and using them to cope with her own health issues.

She now uses what she’s learned to treat people with a wide range of health conditions, from stress and sports injuries to chronic illnesses.

“It’s not always about instant healing but about restoring balance and giving people a sense of peace on their healing journey,” Maggie said.

Maggie O’Rourke is based in New Zealand, offers a range of holistic services but specialises in sound therapy, feng shui, reflexology and animal whispering.

Maggie has diagnosed with fibromyalgia eight years ago and she developed techniques to help her deal with the chronic condition, characterised by muscle pain and fatigue.

She has gained qualifications in a range of therapies including sound therapy, reflexology, micro counselling and in teaching people with disabilities.

“These therapies have helped me significantly in balancing my own life. Life is about balance and my dream with my business is to help my clients achieve balance in every area of their lives - in business, in health and in their personal lives,” Maggie said.

Sound therapy, or music therapy, is Maggie’s particular area of interest and after more than 20 years working with people with disabilities, she believes she has the empathy needed for her new venture.

“I specialise in sound therapy because it complements all other therapies. Research has shown it helps in many areas and I love to see a client leave feeling more peaceful and relaxed,” she said.

According to Wikipedia, sound therapy is a scientifically proven method where a trained music therapist uses music to help clients improve physical, emotional, mental, social, aesthetic and spiritual health.

Maggie uses her own voice and techniques in her therapy and plans to release her first “self-healing” CD in the next few months.

“I have discovered the joy of being able to bring balance back to people’s lives. My mission is to assist people in making positive changes in their personal growth and development,” she said.

Maggie is also gaining a reputation as an animal whisperer, using her skills with horses and dogs in particular.

“People who have their animals treated are often surprised at the positive changes after I have treated them.”
