My name is Katharine (Kate) Bone. I studied in Auckland at Unitec, graduating in 2011 with a Bachelor in Applied Science (Human Biology) and a Master of Osteopathy (Hons). I have been living and working in beautiful Rotorua for the past three years.
The science behind Osteopathic Medicine is broad and encompassing much like the skills of an Osteopath. I believe in taking a hands on approach to health and well-being through the treatment of the body as a whole. Education to prevent injury and pain reoccurrence is also an important part of my philosophy
An osteopathic consultation is often a new experience for many of my clients. To enable me to give you the best possible care and ongoing management, the first consultation will involve a comprehensive overview of your medical history. Followed by a physical examination and treatment.
I often get asked what an osteopath does. It’s a hard question to answer straight off the bat as each treatment is tailored to suit the individual and their needs. Typically I will use a combination of articulation, manipulation, massage, stretches, and ligamentous techniques. I also use cranial techniques which are suitable for babies and adult alike.
I strongly believe that a multi-disciplinary approach to health care is the way of the future and have no hesitation in referring you to other health care providers should this be necessary. I am ACC registered and no referral from the GP is required to make an appointment.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch
