Our food escapes are specifically designed for lovers of rustic local food and relaxing lazy days.

Forget rushing, enjoy no traffic lights and indulge your senses, surrounded by the stunning scenery of Otago while you feast on delicious local food that has been sourced from Otago's best producers straight to you! We have been in the food industry for 13 years and have worked in every aspect of food, from working in orchards to cooking Scottish castles.
From cookbook author to wedding catering and even cheese making, we love food!
We set up and and ran our picnic wedding company and one of a kind picnic restaurant on the Sunshine Coast QLD catering to over 100 weddings and countless picnic experiences. Then on a holiday we fell in love with Lawrence so much that we packed up and moved here. Now we are very proud to bring our years of food experience to Otago.

Our food escapes can be enjoyed at your pace. Plan a mini escape and collect your gourmet picnics from our chocolate shop in the main street , they are filled with delicious local cheese, chutneys, salami, chocolates, sweet pastries and much more (all locally produced and packed, complete with blankets, pillows and picnic maps). Take your picnic on a relaxed tiki tour along quiet country roads and enjoy it by a stream, on a mountain top or beside a lake. Or choose our wicker bike baskets and enjoy the beautiful Otago Gold Cycle trail.

Or make your food escape an overnight mini break in one of the many fabulous heritage B&B's or guesthouses that Lawrence has on offer and have your gourmet food hamper delivered to your door. So you can feast and then explore the many walking tracks and stunning drives around the area. Relax and sleep in, plan your day as you wish, there is no schedule, no stress and no crowds, just delicious food and stunning scenery. Or simply stay put and enjoy eating and drinking on the veranda of your beautiful heritage accommodation.
