More about Koroglen Jerseys

Koroglen Jerseys was the Jersey stud of Rex Brew in Koromiko, Marlborough during the 50s and 60s. The stud was reincarnated by his grandson, Steven Leov, when he bought his first purebred in 2001 from Barry and Betty Liddle of Lynleigh. Since then, Steven has slowly built the numbers of purebred jerseys in his herd. They now make up approximately 30% of the milking herd at the Leov family farm, Bulford, in Rai Valley.

Our dairy platform is made up of 135ha of river terraces bordering the Rai river. Of this 45ha are irrigated. We milk approximately 300 cows in a 44 bale rotary shed.

We aim for our pedigrees is to be dairy cows first and show cows second. If they can't compete in the commercial herd, they don't have a place. Our goal is to breed cows that last longer than the national average, who have good udders, temperaments and capacity and who can thrive on a grass based system in spite of the climactic fluctuations for which Marlborough is renowned.

We are members of The Purebred Jersey Breed Society NZ, Jersey NZ and the Marlborough Jersey club
