Kokopu Trust - Founded by Bill Kerrison in 1991 - Catches, relocates and releases fresh water fisheries such as long and short fin eels, kokopu and other species over Hydro Dams and into the Upper reaches of the Rangitaiki River Catchment and around the Bay of Plenty. Hydro Power Schemes affect the life span of not only eels, but many other endangered species, which Kokopu Trust aim to improve by providing the 'Catch and Release' programme.
