Stephen has sailed these waters here in the Bay Of Islands since the late 60's when he came up on his parents launches holidaying over Christmas. Having cruised these waters made the decision to reside here in retirement an easy decision.

Sue and Stephen got into hospitality as a result of owning Furneaux Lodge on the Queen Charlotte Walk in the Marlborough Sounds from 1999 to 2002. There they had 20 staff, 110 beds, a restaurant and over 2 acres of land only accessed from the sea. Oh yes and no sleep.

Now they are running Villa Russell Bed & Breakfast and Stephen is an avid local photographer, so loves to show off his home patch.
