Formed in 1912, the Kaikorai Cricket Club has contributed to both Otago and New Zealand Cricket. Representative players included great cricketers such as Bert Sutcliffe, Bryan Andrews, Bevan Congdon and Lance Cairns.
Prominent overseas players have also based themselves at Kaikorai including England international Neil Mallender who played for 10 seasons during the 80s and early 90s. The clubs home ground is ‘Bishopscourt’ located on Lynn Street, Dunedin a sand-based ground with two grass pitches and a four-pitch net training facility.
The clubrooms are home to both the cricket and rugby clubs and provide a great atmosphere for after-match and other social functions.
Kaikorai have teams in all grades of men’s cricket, and a junior club for kids aged 5 – 13 years of age.
