Hunting Opotiki

Come and hunt on a private block in the Waioeka Gorge, which backs onto the beautiful Ureweras! The ideal block for hunting Red and Fallow deer in mean, hard country. You can enjoy the use of 150 hectares of hunting in the Waioeka!

This block is ideal for the first time hunter. The block is surrounded by pines on three sides and native bush " Ureweras" are on the back boundary. We have 5 jump ins where wild deer can jump in but cant get out. Over the back fence is ideal for pig hunting. Deer are attracted close to the fence during the roar. We allow hunting outside of the fence.

There are plenty of good mountable heads - both Fallow and Reds, so hunters are advised not to shoot the first animals that they see.

Waioeka river has plenty of Rainbow Trout and the fishing is with a fly. We also welcome bow hunters.
