Hum Salon

We are a gathering place (thus the word Salon in its original meaning) and cafe run by a social enterprise, which itself is made up of community members serving the community.

We offer a safe and relaxed oasis in central Auckland to sit down, have coffee or tea from our volunteer-run coffee shop, meet friends or colleagues, study, unwind, discuss or just listen to the music and enjoy the magnificent view to the sea.

We host intimate gatherings for our community including Tuesday Swing Dance Classes/Socials, Monthly Animal Activist meet-up and Drawfest monthly meet-up. We also host other activities from the villa home.

The front two rooms of the villa are for you to enjoy when the coffee shop is open - Friday to Sunday. Also the deck is a nice place to sit and relax.

We are metamorphic in nature as we grow in many ways including continuing renovations on the beautiful heritage villa on site.

We are all volunteers.

We have recently celebrated bringing this once derelict heritage villa back to life and in use thanks to businesses giving product and the contribution of volunteers near and far, investing in the external alone what has been valued at more than half a million dollars, nothing to blink at, that's for sure.
