Interior Design is my main passion coupled with meeting new people. I enjoy the challenge of working with my clients to reach their desired goal and developing a great working relationship which feels comfortable and relaxed. After completing my Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Gender Studies, I decided to follow my interests in design by completing a diploma in Interior design. I have always been interested in aesthetics, “I believe it is human nature to want to make things look beautiful and if you can have functionality in there as well then that’s a win”. I love sculpture, art and fashion which all coincide with interior design.
During my Diploma I worked for a well-known Interior Designer in Christchurch, then moved to South Canterbury where I worked for Deborah Still Interior Design Studio, where I gained new skills and work experience before deciding to head overseas for that compulsory OE experience that New Zealanders have a natural tendency for.
“Travelling really opened my eyes to all the amazing designs, ideas and history in the world” I travelled extensively in Europe with trips to Turkey, eight countries in Africa, America and ended up living in Sydney for a year before returning to New Zealand three years later. After travelling and visiting some fairly spectacular palaces, gardens and houses around the world it’s hard to have one particular style that I really love best and if I could change my interior of my own home every few months I definitely would.
