Hawaiian Essence

Hawaiian Essence embraces people of all ages, shapes, and sizes. The director Danae Paul began this group in 2011 since then over 30 people have passed through the doors, and we have had the opportunity of performing at many community events. We embrace and edify each other on and off the stage with self confidence, self worth as well as health and well being - that of mind, the body and the soul. All these create a oneness for us in the world in order to bring the essence of Hawaii to whereever we maybe.
Each session begins and ends with pule (prayer) this is given by members within the group - those who do not pray will give us an uplifting thought or message. This allows the life flow of each one of us present to connect to each other and what ever higher power we believe in. We connect to our environment through our essence meeting with that of our mother earth through the movements of our feet, through the movements of our arms and through the movements of our bodies.
We have micro groups these are those groups who wish not to perform but would like to participate in this culture. These micro groups run for 8 weeks.
