Hugh is a passionate and skilled property consultant with over twenty years experience in selling development and investment properties in Australia and New Zealand. He also held accreditation in Mortgage Broking and Insurance in New South Wales.
That passion also extends to the Equine Industry. Hugh has played an active role as a breeder, owner, bloodstock agent, bloodstock insurance consultant and jockey manager, highlighted by two significant features.
Hugh was fortunate to spend two and a half years at Arrowfield, in the Hunter Valley working for Paul Messara in the establishment of the magnificent state of the art thoroughbred training centre.
The other was the win of Michael Walker on Military Move in the 2010 $2 million New Zealand Derby.
Military Move handled the 2400m of the Derby brilliantly, aided by a perfect ride from Michael Walker. Walker, who in May 2008 was nearly killed when he fell 10m down a bank while on a pig hunting trip, celebrated the win in a memorable and emotional manner. It was his first Group 1 win since his accident, and a race he later said he had always dreamed of winning.
