Eyrewell Forest is a small rural area in the Waimakariri District, New Zealand. About half of the area is forestland, which the area's name is derived from.HistoryDue to Canterbury's lack of native forest, in the early 1900s the government planted exotic forests throughout North Canterbury, including Eyrewell Forest. On 1 August 1975, however, most of the forest was blown over by strong north-westerly winds.ClimateThe average temperature in summer is 16.2 °C, and in winter is 5.9 °C.
