Earth School

The seeds for Earth School were planted in 2007 when Cheri began her immersion into environmental science, outdoor education and bush survival. She then continued on to study sustainable development, horticulture, permaculture design, Rongoa - Maori Medicine, herbalism, outdoor first aid and traditional skills. The next part of her journey included presenting at festivals and volunteering in India, Nepal and Far North Queensland.

When Cheri first facilitated Earth School at the International Holistic Learning Conference in 2011, it became clear that sharing nature connection with children was her calling.

After sharing her passion and ideas at a full-time Forest School in New Zealand, Cheri then flew to Queensland and started the Level 3 Forest School Leadership course.

With the co-leadership of Lena Müller, Earth School is evolving into a full time learning space that celebrates culture, Mother Earth and sustainability. Lena is an experienced qualified teacher and steiner educator with a vibrant yet down to earth attitude.

What's in store for summer and the new year?

We have multiple festivals booked, a school holiday program and half terms available. Sessions are mixed ages and cater to a range of learning styles and interests. We are nature based, creative, experimental, skills based, play based and child led. Safety is important to us and we facilitate in a way that encourages risk management, risk benefits, uniqueness, emotional development and the freedom of child led learning and pace.
