A small local panel beating and spray painting business on the main road of Newlands, specializing in all types of work including ALL Insurance company work, private work including, WOF rust repairs, small dents & paint touch-ups to larger restoration work on older classic & vintage cars. All work has a guarantee (despite what the insurance company might tell you) I quite enjoy fixing up older cars for customers and trying to work within their budget to get the best result possible for what they want to spend.
I have been in business in Newlands since 2003, and been panel beating since 1987! (oh my god has it been that long!) after having completed my apprenticeship working for two other small workshops in Wellington, I decided to give it a go on my own and was lucky enough to find a workshop just down the road from where I live!
I have always been keen on (old) cars and anything else with wheels and a motor really, also things that go fast! I have a couple of old Datsun 1200’s (three actually?? Among other things) which I seem to be constantly working on, one of them is the “Classic panel & paint” datsun 1200 2 door sedan, which I do a bit of racing in, local hill climbs etc. the 2 door sedan is a very rare car in NZ, this particular one was brought in to the country as a spare shell for a rally car (which was never used) I found it laying in someone’s front yard, saved it from the tip and resurrected it using a donor 4 door sedan.
