Chris Stevens - Eightfold Financial Services Group

Chris is not just a 'mortgage broker', like so many other brokers out there. Yes he passed the tests needed to qualify and call himself a broker, but for Chris, property finance is his passion and something he's been doing his whole career. With a degree in Valuation and Property Management, and then honours in Finance, Chris started out his career with the property finance team at ASB. There he learned the ins and outs of financing the NZ property market. A shift to London then prompted a shift into corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions at Jones Lang LaSalle. Valuing businesses, from small properties through to multi-million £ corporates, and brokering their sales/purchases. On returning to NZ, Chris joined the Corporate Finance team at ANZ where he specialised in the financing of food and beverage, supermarkets and manufacturing and exporting companies. This involved getting to know the intricacies of each business and how they operated, in order to best structure it's lending. His interest in property remained though and he was also involved in the financing of all things property-related wherever possible. A move to the corporate division of the newly established China Construction Bank opened up his exposure to a new market and international financing. Ultimately though, the time came to get out of the corporate rat race, avoid all the red tape and in-house politics that comes with large corporates, and go out on his own and just focus on what he loves - getting people the best deal possible for their business and/or property.
