More about Carving River Hunts

With full access to manuka-covered East Coast hill country, Carving River Hunts offers guided hunting trips: red and fallow deer for trophy and game-hunters, or for the younger adventurers there are rabbits, possums, wild turkeys and peacocks.

Located on a 3000-acre sheep and beef station just 15 minutes off State Highway 2, it’s just 40 minutes inland from Gisborne. Full accommodation is available – either as a farmhouse stay or camping out in the wilds.

Experienced hunting guides will take you by ATV across the river to the outskirts of the forested area and from there by foot across the rolling to steep terrain. With its hidden gullies and clearings, it’s a deer-stalker’s mecca.

$500.00 for a full day and one deer shot, with a maximum of three people per guide (food included).
$300.00 for every deer shot thereafter.
$150.00 for small game outings (possums, rabbits etc).
$40.00 per person per night’s stay in the farmhouse.

Email carvingriverhunts@gmail.com or call 06 862 3408 for bookings or more information. Multi-day trips available. All levels of experience accommodated for. Bring your guns and gear - some guns may be available for hire on request.

Carving River Hunts is all about providing the genuine New Zealand hunting experience - so prepare to get rugged!
