Spacious loft-style rooms on large rural lifestyle property overlooking the garden and native bush.

Linen, towels and heating are all provided with a semi-ensuite and mini-kitchenette in your room.

Main room has 2 x queen beds and a pull-out sofa and the second room has a queen and single bed.

Continental or free-range eggs breakfast may be pre-ordered. The property is also dog-friendly, if they are house and voice-trained.

(Hello and welcome to Big Sky Retreat... a bit about us and what we do on our own special little speck of earth here in Oropi...

We are set on a 13.5 acre life-style block about 20mins to Tauranga, 30mins to Rotorua and Mount Maunganui beach.

We have several berry and fruit crops over summer (yum!) and then through winter we have hydroponic hothouse tomatoes.

Our in-progress big project is to re-establish the super-large vege garden with heirloom varieties to feed the property and the community (and preserve the heritage seeds for future generations), then also implement Permaculture principles and eventually Bio-dynamics for more self-sufficiency.

I have a cute dog and occasionally a couple of teenage goats from over the fence plus the 'neigh'bours horse/s doing some grass control and we have now added 20 chickens and 3 bantams!

There are usually 2 flatmates in the house as well as myself, international woofers (workers on organic farms) and people in the cottage/converted shed accommodation.

We have a lovely community here and with a brand new local hall there will be loads of fun and festivities coming up over the next few months!
