Ara - The Zone Sports Science & Wellness Centre

We provide fitness testing and assessment services for elite and recreational athletes, clinical groups, and those who are just interested in knowing the status of their fitness, health and wellness.

We can also design assessment and training programmes for a wide range of clients and can tailor these to suit. For example, we have designed programmes to enhance sporting performance and help with weight loss. We have sophisticated equipment that can measure your oxygen consumption, movement, speed, force production, muscle and body fat mass.

We offer school holiday programmes and other educational services including being able to provide NCEA curriculum content for schools and seminars tailored for our clients needs.

The Zone uses purpose-built sport and exercise science facilities – the same as those used by our Bachelor of Applied Science students specialising in sports and exercise science, physical activity and health promotion or human nutrition.
