Walkabouts - dog walking, pet feeding service & house-sitting

Dear to all animal's owners,

Let me to introduce myself and tell a bit about myself.
I am Jenna, am 26 years old who is a very energetic (even the kids couldn't keep me up at the end), explorer. humour, fearless, daring, passion, caring and adorable for all kinds of animals.

Even if it is a spider - I normally found them crawls somewhere in the house, I gently pick spider up to free them in somewhere along flowers in my backyard..
Not that many people would do that.
They will do exact the opposite as I do..
Your first sight of spider, scream then find an object nearby you or rush to get a fly spray to kill the spider, spray on them heavily).

I am a dog walker and owner of the Walkabouts for two years since April 2013 and let's many years to come...
I have met so many lovely owners and all kind of dog' breeds, sizes, strengths and energetic dogs. All sizes go from Chihuahua to Great Dane.

I born and raised in Gore, I have been at all over the places..Here, there, everywhere!

I have two boys (cats) Tom (8) who is named after Tom & Jerry. Moo is ten months younger than Tom. Moo got my personality.

We have a family dog named Skye (Staffy X Lab) who is also 8 years old. We rescued from a violent home & we bought her to a lovable home with lot of affections. It is the very same day we got Tom.

I studied at Animal Care and Dog behaviour at CPIT in 2008.
My very first job after CPIT, I was working at Dogs grooming at Papanui Rd.
Somehow, I accidentally found the Walkabouts on the phonebook. I emailed owner, meet her and I immediately got the job on the very same day. I was a dog walker for a year half.

I decided to have a go to work for a national community organisation to helps our community needs for four years in Christchurch then Dunedin. Contract ended.

At 2011, I work for Homebush Greyhounds.
There is over 200 greyhound dogs to handling, training, exercise, breed and take them to once of races. Mostly races at Wanganui and Addington. I only work there for a few months.

Since a lovely Walkabouts owner have decided to move on a new adventure of her life. She asked and I returned to agreed to be an owner of Walkabouts. Here am I :)

Even though you all may wondering why we name our service - "Walkabouts".
It is because it is over the places where all dogs and I go, explore, greets to meet other dogs in here, there and everywhere.

Walkabouts is where all dogs meet, exercise and to socialising with dogs and humans too.

Walkabouts is helping with your dog to reduce their boredom behaviour at your own home (even sneakily one of your shoe to chew on to kill the time until you get home from work), to gain few years of their lifespan. Healthy and less vet bills!

Owner are happily to come home to see their happy dog! Even they wanted to tell you about their day out with us.

There are so many reasons why you NEED us and our service.

- No time to take your dog for a walk? Stuck at home or work?

- Don't want to walk in the rain? (I am a pluviophile, who finds joy in the rain)

- Want your dog to meet and make a new friend?

We are here to take your dog for an hour or so for a walk to exercise and socialising with other dogs. With or Without lead
One-to-one or group (up to 8 dogs).

$25 for an hour walk.
Two dogs at your home, $40 for an hour walk.
Three dogs at your home, $ 60 for an hour walk.

- Going away for an overnight, short or long holiday?
- No one is unable to feed your pets?

Once or twice a day to feed your pets, also we do have an extra time to take them for a short walk, play and social them.

$20 for feed, play, social & cuddles.
$25 for 20 minutes walk, play, feed & cuddles.
$35 for an hour walk, swim, play, feed & cuddles.

I also able to looking after your house to collect the mail, recycle bins, water the gardening or plants. I also can do house sitting to comforts your pet at your own home if you prefer.

- Transport to vet/home due no transport?
We are able to pick up/drop off to/from vet to your home.

$15 for transport

I have been walking with them with no leads.
I believe to let them off lead, to enjoy, to sniffs, to explores, to run freedom, to swim.. Even all of them are sticking together, knowing their walking distance away from the group and I call their names out only if need to.

You may have a curious about walk with no lead and what if they have ever ran away, lost or escape from our walkies group??

NONE of the dogs I have been walking with is ran away, escape or lost.. They are always close by me. I always carry a lead on me in case if there is something happens.

I do a free visit consultation to introduce myself in person to you, your pet and your own home to discuss further. Also dog's form to fill in. Sometimes I will ask your permission to take your dog for a five minutes to evaluate of their walking behaviour and getting to know your dog better :)
