Dr Christine van Dalen

Christine took over the Wadestown Medical Practice from Dr David Waite in February 2014.

Christine has a particular interest in asthma and allergy. She completed a PhD in asthma pathogenesis in 2000, and has spent many years researching asthma both at Otago and Massey University. She has recently completed a Post Graduate Certificate in Allergy at Imperial College, London, and brings this extra training into her medical practice.

Dr Michelle Wilson


Dr Wilson joined the practice in July 2015. She has a special interest in travel medicine and can provide travel medicine appointments to our patients.

She also has a post-graduate Diploma in Child Health.

Dr Scott Newman


Dr Newman joined the practice in February 2016. He is a keen mountain biker and brings this interest in sport to his medical practice.

Mrs MaryJane Chambers, RN

MaryJane (or MJ as many know her) was Dr Waite's right-hand woman for around 25 years.

She now works Mondays and Tuesdays at the practice, spending the rest of the week rushing around helping her daughters and looking after grandchildren. She is ably assisted in this by her husband Kevin, who meets her refined coffee taste by delivering her coffee to her in the morning.

Ms Kate Halkett


Kate joined the practice in October 2015 to replace Rochelle while she is on maternity leave. She has previously worked in many departments in Wellington Hospital.


Medical Fees

As members of the Compass Health Primary Health Care Organisation we are able to provide subsidised medical care to our enrolled patients.

Regular Consultations

Adult 65 years and over: $50
Adult 25-44 years: $50.00
Adult 45-64 years: $51.00
Adult 18-24 years: $48.00
Child 13-17 years: $38.00
Child 12 years and under: No charge.
