Take a 21st century journey into his scientific imagination, in the actual Arts Centre rooms where Rutherford started his scientific career.

Hands-on experiments, walk-in multi-sensory experiences and interactive screens are just some of the fun ways you’ll learn about this regular Kiwi bloke who became New Zealand’s greatest scientist.

Follow him as he discovers what the inside of an atom looks like, finds out about radioactivity, discovers alpha and beta rays, and is the first to transform one element into another.
