Muziris was an ancient seaport and urban center on the Malabar Coast (modern-day Indian state Kerala) that dates from at least the 1st century BC.
Kerala is known as the "Land of Spices". Traditionally, in Kerala, food is served on a banana leaf. The unusual cuisine of Kerala brings to the fore the culinary expertise of the people of Kerala. Producing some of the tastiest foods on earth, Keralites are gourmets with a difference. The food is generally fresh, aromatic and flavored. We put to good use whatever the land offers and the result is a marvelous cuisine that is simple yet palate tickling.
Kerala cuisine is entirely different from all the other state foods. If one goes into Kerala, they could find that there is uniqueness in the same dish in each city in Kerala. We are greatly proud of our food.
