Homies of Pōneke

Homies is an experimental community project by the people, for the people.
We are a semi-permanent group of mindful Wellington-based individuals who believe that if one person in a community has had an idea, chances are, so does somebody else in the same network. Putting this hypothesis into practice could open up a wonderful network of collaboration, rather than individually burning out or informally entering into competition! But how do you know who these people are and what they're thinking?

We are the voluntary middle man, communicating between dreamers, doers, designers, builders, artists, coders and growers; we are able to develop your visions through facilitating connection. If you have an idea but you lack the people, send us a message and we'll cast the net.

We no longer have the teahouse on Manners St but we'll be hosting events year long to encourage organic community connection.

All services are koha, which means that all we require from you is the passion to create something beneficial for our environment (biologically, socially, culturally etc). However, if you derive any treasure from your endeavour, or if you have certain gear lying around that isn't being used and you wish to donate this to the social enterprise, you may contact us privately to arrange such a kind gesture. All funds raised go into hiring gear and halls but long-term we'd like to have a library of resources to lend out. Enough talk about the future, ask us how we can help in the present :)
