Elevate Equine Therapies

Equine bodywork increases the blood circulation in muscles, relieves stiffness or tension throughout the body, promotes healing, and creates relaxation throughout the body, leading to the release of deeper connective tissue.
Combined with different techniques such as acupressure, myofascial release, trigger point therapy and stretching exercises, I work to address every area of the horse's body, lengthening the horses muscles, aiding in restoration of normal range of movement and working to maintain optimum health.
Bodywork is a great way to make sure your equine partner is performing and feeling their best; rather like the way you service your car- your want to make sure everything is in align within their bodies also.

Working with every disciplines and breeds, every horse is different therefore every session will vary in technique and intensity, depending on what issues the individual horse presents with.
I work with the owners as well during the session, showing them ways in which they can help aid their horse through enhancing their understanding of how the equine body functions, and leaving them with practical knowledge and exercises about promoting correct movement.
I also offer advice on gait assessment, conditioning, behavioural and conformational issues and training management.

Since training through Equinology (the largest complimentary therapy school in the world for Equine & Canine Courses), I have had the opportunity to work alongside Sarah Linton Equine Therapies & Saddle fitting, as well as attend an equine dissection course by Sharon May-Davis (who is one of Australia’s leading experts of equine biomechanics and the musculo-skeletal system.) The dissection left me with a real 'insight' to what therapists actually work with their hands, and how intricately linked each system of the body is, yet how much it differs in every case. As Sharon puts it "We have to think beyond the text book and look at horses as individuals".
